I know I owe you several chapters (hides head), but I was excited to see the Legend of Tarzan teaser trailer!
Interestingly, while there’s been positive comments, there has been a lot of complaints about it not being Disney, that he doesn’t have dreads, and that he’s not wearing the famous loin cloth. The trailer clearly shows Tarzan in pants….clothes that he’s wearing since he’s been out of the jungle for 10 years living in England. However, the trailer also shows some very quick glimpses of a “pre-England, pre-Jane” Tarzan.
You can see that he does, indeed, have dreads since combing his hair everyday was not part of his habit and it looks like he is wearing something very minimal. Did I say very minimal….well, I swear I see a lot of hip and leg. 🙂 It also shows him moving on all fours.
Personally, I’m fine without the loin cloth since it makes sense with the story they’re telling, but it seems to be a huge point of contention for some. Anyway, I hope once it’s revealed that there may be something “loin cloth-like”, people can let that go.
I’m posting the screen caps here. Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday!
Oh my!😳😍😍😍

Thanks! I decided to look more closely because of some of the comments I’ve read. Seems like their doubts might be assuaged. 🙂

Maybe there is no loin cloth and he is in the buff. Disney would probably not put up with that level of sexiness. Yay!

Ha! I’m pretty sure that would not make the Disney cut. 😀

Alex said in one interview there would be loincloth and Tarzanyell.
However, I am hoping they tell more of a story. There are over 20 TarAn books and although I haven’t read them all, they are about Tarzan’s development

I’ve read several of the books, too, and there’s certainly many adventures for him. My impression is that this movie will weigh heavily on character development and story….I hope it’s true. 🙂 I liked the way the Tarzan yell/call is more of a roar. It sounded menacing in the trailer and not the yodel of the old Weismuller movies. I also think the loin cloth will only be in the flashbacks and that present day will be the pants.
I, initially, cringed when I thought he’d be in a loin cloth throughout. While he’s beautiful to look at, I really want and hope that this will focus on his acting chops and not totally be all about the pretty.
So far the yell is good and whatever he’s wearing or not wearing in the flashbacks all seem okay and consistent with the story. As WB continues their marketing maybe some/all of the naysayers commenting about how the movie will suck because he’s clean shaven, has no chest hair, isn’t wearing a loin cloth, doesn’t have dreads, and doesn’t walk like the apes will quiet down. 🙂

I had to quit reading the comments over on YouTube, they were driving me ape shit!! LOL. I think it’s mostly the younger crowd doing all the complaining. If they would read the synopsis they would easily figure it out. I hope there is enough of us out there that get it that we can help them.
I know once they see the movie and his acting skills, all the little nit picky things will fade away. I have faith in him and David both.

Lol I agree. All people need to do is… Read! Geepers, not that hard!
Love the little pinky when he’s having tea 😉
Have to admit, the sight of him in the jungle all dirty but in jeans… That made me wonder. Now I understand 🙂

Yes, I had the same issue. I even commented to try and educate them that there are books and to what the plot is, but it’s frustrating. Some of the people were thoroughly surprised and appreciated knowing there were over 20 books.
I’m excited to see more marketing. I think hat’ll help, too!

I did too until I got too frustrated. Fingers crossed that by July it’s clear to everyone what it’s all about. But it BLOWS my mind that there is anyone out there that doesn’t know there are books! I know it was a long time ago, but seriously???

You say that like you’re surprised that some people don’t read? Or they only read the NYT Best Sellers. 😉
Classics? (If you can even call them that) Isnt ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ a classic now? If it’s not on the school itinerary….
Oh well. I forgot they were on my ‘to read’ lost way back when… Looks like it just got longer again lol

Oh, I don’t expect everyone to have read them, I haven’t, but I’ve known about them for a long time. That very well could be because I’m almost 41 though 😉

Ah…. I decided that I’m not 40. I’m still 28…. And always will be 😉

Even if you never write another word, what you have already written is blood. I mean gold! Maybe I should stop listening to Eric rant 😋
I may not read and or review much, cos RL kicks my butt! But you do this for free and deserve an Eric leer. You are brilliant! I love your stories!
